Biography of Reverend Michael Robertson
Michael Robertson was born and brought up in Glasgow. After studying for a
degree in French language and literature at Glasgow University he worked as a
university librarian in London. He later joined a team based at Bristol
University developing computer systems for university libraries.
In 1987 Michael was accepted by Clifton Diocese as a student for the priesthood
and was sent to the Venerable English College in Rome. While there he was also
able to study for a Licence in Theology at the Gregorian University. On 11th
September 1993 Michael was ordained by Bishop Mervyn in Clifton Cathedral, his
home parish.
After ordination Michael's first appointment was as Assistant Priest at St
Osmund's, Salisbury. Before coming to Fairford and Cricklade he served as Parish
Priest of St Edmund's, Calne and then of St Bonaventure's, Bristol.
